Belle Oaks Barn – Engagement Session

Brooke and Jesse met me out at Belle Oaks Barn in Brooker, Fl last month for their sunny engagement session. I had been sick in bed for over a week and this shoot was exactly what I needed to pull me out of my funk. They were waiting on rocking chairs of the barn when I arrived. As they came walking up I noticed that Brooke was wearing the most beautiful burgundy lace dress with her hair and makeup done perfectly. Jesse was also dressed up and ready with a smile on his face.

One of the many photo props on the property is Eleanor, the white 1930 Essex Automobile. This pristine classic car was so much fun to use. The doors were unlocked so I asked them to climb in and snuggle up. They happily obliged. I loved that these pictures almost make you feel like you are watching an old romantic movie.

As the sun started to set, we made our way out into the field with tall grass. Jesse and Brooke changed into a more relaxed outfit which was perfect for the next set of pictures that I had in mind. Next on the list were some more playful shots. Getting a couple to pull out their competitive side makes for amazing shots so I convinced them to race. Then I told Brooke to jump on Jesse’s back, it was his mission to try to run and bounce her off. Her mission was to hang on tight and try to sneak in a kiss. We were all laughing so hard at this point!

To finish the evening, we ran to the back corner of the property where the last few moments of sunlight was coming through the mossy oaks trees. We slowed down the shoot and I told them to just get lost in each others eyes for a few minutes. The way they looked at each other was so sweet. Their wedding in December is going to be magical and I cannot wait to be there!!
