Adkins Family Pictures at Kanapaha Botanical Gardens

This year I got to photograph the annual Adkins Family pictures at the beautiful Kanapaha Botanical Gardens in Gainesville, Fl. The Adkins family has been coming to see me for family pictures for several years. Each year I get to watch their family grow and their personalities blossom. Little Arthur always shows his shy side at first but quickly warms up when we start to play. Sweet little miss Arlee has no problem showing off all of her cuteness and sass the moment I put her in front of the camera.

We started our adventure around Kanapaha by checking out the small bridge and waterfall. Our next stop was the back field so that the kids could run around and play. When working with younger kids I love to let them be kids so that I can capture their candid smiles and genuine personalities. Of course, I work in some posed shots as well. Once they get comfortable with me, they start to do their own little poses and its so much fun to document. As we made our way towards the butterfly garden, we found some sycamore trees that had recently dropped all of their leaves. Arlee and Arthur had so much fun tossing the leaves in the air. We all laughed as we watched them play.
